Buffet breakfast in Asakusa Tobu Hotel

Comfortable space for a family of four. We had the skytree view room which was lovely. Nice and close to sumida park and the water. Short walk to some of the attractions like Senso-ji temple and Skytree. It is a bit of a walk from Asakusa station if you want to access the Asakusa line in particular, and to get to the other side of Tokyo like Harajuku it takes a while on the metro. Friendly and responsive staff

Buffet breakfast in Asakusa Tobu Hotel

If we were to visit Tokyo again, we would stay here! The location is perfect: - Train station (Ginza Line & Asakusa Line) right over the road. We used the Ginza Line every day. It was super convenient. - 3-5 min walk to Sensoji Temple and Nakamise-Dori Street. - 7/11 2 doors away - super handy! - Chain food restaurants such as Ichiran Damen 3 doors away and others close by (Coco Curry House, Starbucks). - 5 min walk from the river with an amazing view of the Skytree. - There’s a long alleyway of food places that starts 30 seconds from the hotel - you will never be stuck for food near the hotel, that’s for sure! The hotel itself was wonderful. Very clean and our room was a great size, with views of the temple and surrounding area. Room had 2 3/4 beds together which was great and had lots of room. The hotel also accepted and held our luggage that we had shipped from Osaka. It had a great sized bathroom with a huge bath, which was great for evenings after 20,000+ steps during the day! They also have vending machines on certain floors and, something we found very handy which we had never seen before, was that there’s an option on the TV to check what washing machines are free and how long is left on the cycle so you’re not back and forward. We absolutely loved our stay and would absolutely stay again. I really felt the location really helped make our trip as it was convenient to get around Tokyo.

Property building in Asakusa Tobu Hotel

Location: Fantastic spot in Asakusa. Namikase Shopping Street is just around the corner, but the way the hotel faces means you don't immediately get ambushed by crowds which is great. Convenience stores and many many small eateries littered around the hotel, several opening till past 11pm even. Tobu station entrance (if you're heading to Nikko etc) is just right opposite with a traffic crossing, no concerns at all about stairs for those with heavy luggage. Ginza entrance is just right around the corner, which gets you to Shibuya in 30 mins. Only downside (a very small one I wouldn't event consider it) is that the Asakusa Line entrance (ie Narita and Haneda Airport) is about a 7 - 10 min walk away (with luggage), and you'll have to lug your bags down and up stairs. Staff: Extremely helpful with everything, from offering directions to baggage storage to extra amenities. Super prompt with replies as well even pre-arrival. The front desk even helped us collect a package delivery we arranged while we were out, and left us a note at our room door notifying us to collect it. Rooms: We booked the larger Double Room (204 sqf) for five nights and it was amazing. Most comfortable stay I've ever had in Tokyo. There was more than enough space for two big luggage to open fully. The bathroom was huge too. TV channels were great, they even had YouTube and Netflix available (you'll need to use your own account to log in). We also stayed in their standard double room for an extra night. Granted, the room is much tighter, like how every other hotel in Tokyo is. Good if you're staying only 1 - 2 nights, but any longer and I would highly recommend going for the bigger double room. You won't regret the upgrade. Amenities: Laundry and washing services were a life-saver.

Buffet breakfast in Asakusa Tobu Hotel

Excellent location close to 3 stations (Tokyo metro, Toei & JR, all named Asakusa). The hotel sells the Japan Metro/Toei 72 hour pass (not valid on JR), which is a great deal for getting around. The metro station is just opposite, with a department store above. The basement selling food is great for buying breakfast (the hotel breakfast ends at 10+,am as their lunch service starts from 11.30am) or dinner (20-30% off most cooked food e.g. yakitori, croquette, bento etc. in the food hall after 6 or 7pm, as the mall closes at 8pm. The famous Ichiran Ramenses just next door. Perfect base for visiting Asakusa and the rest of Tokyo (Shinjuku is about 40 minutes away by metro; Akihabara & Ginza about 20 minutes away.) Beds are wider than normal and can comfortably fit an adult & a child (can share bed for free, up to 12 years old). Be aware though that the Twin B room only has standing space between the bed and all 3 walls/window. 2 cushioned chairs & a small table are provided but it's often covered by our stuff as there's storage, except for under the bed. There is a small cupboard where the cups are kept, and a shallow drawer under the TV. No wardrobe for clothes but there are about 8 hangers (of which 2 for pants) on 2 clothes knob in the entrance, which is quite narrow. It's great that the toilet is separate from the bathroom (Japanese deep bathtub + shower so you can DIY an onsen experience), and the sink is outside. Shower pressure / jet is strong & powerful and makes for good massage after a day of sightseeing. Staff are all very helpful and I never had to wait long for check-in, check-out, to enquire, to request more towels or borrow umbrella etc. Laundrette is 500¥ for 3kg wash & dry. Our room had a view of the Sumida River & Asahi building. I'm definitely recommending this hotel! (if your credit card has a good rate, choose to settle in JPY instead of your home currency proposed by the payment terminal)

Restaurant/places to eat in Asakusa Tobu Hotel

Incredible location - Sensō-ji and Skytree within walking distance, hundreds of restaurants in the surrounding streets, 3 subway lines right outside including rapid line to Narita Airport, even riverboat tours 5 minutes away. Breakfast also very good.

Location was perfect. Very near the subway, although it's quite a ride going to places like Shibuya and Shinjuku. But entrance to the Ginza line was just a 2min walk. Rooms were spacious, considering this is Tokyo. Rooms and the entire hotel felt very well kept. Convenience stores are nearby. It's quiet at night, which is perfect for resting. Checkin and checkout were a breeze. Area feels safe and you'll not run out of things to explore. Will definitely recommend to friends. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel and will definitely consider staying here again in the future. We found a gem in Tokyo!

Buffet breakfast in Asakusa Tobu Hotel

Stayed at the Asakusa Tobu Hotel 7 nights: Pleasant helpful staff; clean rooms and facilities; great service; good baggage storage and also baggage delivery service to Narita Airport; great location near the train/subway stations, Sensoji temple, numerous shopping malls and restaurants and sightseeing spots. As independent travelers using public transportation we typically find it very convenient to use Japan's efficient and reasonably cost baggage deliver;y service (Yamato, etc.). Upon arrival in Japan we send our large baggage from the airport to the hotel(s) and near the end of our trip we send baggage from the hotel to the departing airport. In this way we travel comfortably nearly hands-free on trains where luggage space is somewhat limited not to mention eliminating lugging baggage up and down platforms in train stations. Not many hotels provide this baggage service. The Asakusa Tobu Hotel does provide this baggage delivery service and their staff are super helpful in that they assist in filling out the delivery forms correctly. Upon departure from the airport we pick up our luggage at the baggage delivery service counter on the same floor as our airline departure check in counter. This makes independent travel so convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Buffet breakfast in Asakusa Tobu Hotel

After spending 2 nights in the Hello Kitty Sakura Room, we moved rooms for our next 2 nights in the Hello Kitty Wa-modern Room.. we definitely felt more comfortable in the Wa-modern room as it didn’t have the raised tatami area & also had actual chairs in the sitting area. This seemed to create more space to get around in the room. I’d definitely recommend the Wa-modern over the Sakura if you have older children & lots of luggage. The hotel is in a great area of Asakusa, and is close to the Temple, Skytree and Train Stations. We would stay here again for sure.
